There are seasons in life when we pray for God to fling open a huge door.
The dream job.
The perfect home.
Financial security.
A fresh start.
We wait for something big.
But sometimes God opens a small door first.
Today, I accepted a job at a bagel shop.
If I’m honest, it isn’t where I imagined I’d be at this point in my life. It doesn’t come with a fancy title or a corner office. It won’t make me rich. But as I stood there thinking about it, something settled in my heart.
Maybe this is exactly where God wants me today.
For now, this job provides what I need—a steady paycheck, good hours, a chance to breathe, and the opportunity to begin rebuilding one step at a time.
More than that, it reminds me that God’s provision doesn’t always arrive the way we expect.
Sometimes His blessings come wrapped in ordinary moments.
Who knows who I’ll meet there?
Maybe I’ll simply make someone’s morning a little brighter with a smile and a warm bagel.
Maybe I’ll encourage someone who’s carrying a burden no one else can see.
Maybe someone will encourage me.
Or maybe this little job is preparing me for something much bigger that I can’t see yet.
I’ve learned that life isn’t always about rushing toward the next big thing.
Sometimes it’s about being faithful with what’s right in front of you.
Jesus said in Luke 16:10:
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much…”
That verse has been on my heart today.
I’m choosing to believe that every season has a purpose.
Every conversation matters.
Every opportunity has value.
Every small door can lead to something we never imagined.
So today, I’m thankful.
Not because everything is perfect.
Not because all my questions have been answered.
But because I can see God providing one step at a time.
As I prepare for my first day on Wednesday morning, I’m walking through this small door with hope, gratitude, and faith that God is already ahead of me.
If you’re waiting for your own “big door” to open, don’t overlook the small one standing in front of you.
It just might be the beginning of something beautiful.
With love,
Katrina ❤️
